I purchased the flare tool as I am restoring several cars and replacing brake lines. I had needs for inverted and bubble flares which this tool was supposed to be able to make. I had the need to be able to make flares on steel lines and copper/nickel lines. Note: I did not try stainless lines.Pros: the tool was the easiest to use of any flare tool that I have used in 33 years. The tool made acceptable/good flares on steel lines. In the picture the steel are at the top.Cons: The handle wasn't as sturdy as I would expect and may be an issue over time. The fitting head was a little looser than I expected. The tool simply could not make an acceptable bubble flare (copper/nickel line) which is a requirement for me and the automobiles I'm restoring. The tool produced consistent bad flares when copper/nickel line was used. I used two separate manufactures for copper/nickel, and both would not make an acceptable flare. Please see picture and NOTE the Circled flare is an example from a line I purchased with pre-formed flares and represents a good flare.Result was that I returned the tool as it did not function as listed. My experience was on a sample of one tool, but the tool was not usable for me. I loved the concept of the tool, but tool did not perform as listed. Now I'm back to searching for a flare tool.
