Needed a something to spread apart the sides of my bush hog to keep the blades from hitting. Makes a helluva racket that gets very annoying as the day progresses. So I ordered the 10 ton unit rather than the 4 ton one because "some is good , more must be better". The downside of the 10 ton unit is that, with all the accessories, it is 70# and comes in a cheap plastic carrying case. The molded plastic case did not hold up to the shipping and was cracked at several spots. Even though the case had a spot for all the items, figuring out where each piece goes is next to impossible, and when you do get them in place so you can close the lid, they fall out when you try to pick up the case. I said try because picking up a 70# case and taking it any distance is not too good on your back. Much easier to only take the pieces you need to the job and leave the others in the case. Then I found that the chamfer on the cast iron accessories was not adequate to insert the connectors in them. The connectors have a split ring in a groove that have to be forced in by the chamfer to insert the connector. This holds them in place and prevents them from falling out when assembling the pieces. The pipe pieces are chamfered adequately to allow them to be inserted with a little force, but trying to force them in the the cast iron pieces results in the sharp inner edge of the split ring digging into the groove and then it cannot be inserted even in the pipe pieces. Other than the cheesiest manual I have ever seen for a $200 item, the unit works pretty well once you figure out how one person can support in place it under a bush hog,I bought this kit 2 years ago to do mobile truck alignments. It has performed better than I had hoped. I have abused it and it has held up. As others have mentioned the case is junk, but I do continue to use it, but it is cheap plastic and doesn't even survive shipping. I have done over 100 alignments and just recently developed a problem with the ram. But considering the amount of time I have dropped it I am not surprised. Hoping to be able to but the ram separate. I would recommend this product for medium duty use. And I am satisfied with the value that I paid.The connector on the "spreader" attachment was all pitted and corroded on arrival (see picture of dull messed up connector). As a result, it would not thread onto the flexible hose. The ram connector looks great and work just fine (see picture of shiny connector).Unfortunately, the spreader is the key reason I bought this item. I've put in for a refund/return and will see what they seller says.BTW, not that it needs a lot of documentation but the tiny doc that did come with it was mostly part list and exploded views of the device. Would have been good to have a bit more detail. Also, the plastic case is that cheap, super smelly plastic that you can't possibly keep in your house. Pretty harsh even in the garage. Just sayin'...[Update] I opened a return request and the seller responded quite quickly asking for pictures and more info. I responded and they quickly came back with an offer to replace the spreader part. I accepted and they fedex'd (ground) the part. The new one works exactly as expected.I bumped up the stars to four. They lose one for the poor quality control and for the kinda crappy case. Won't be long before it breaks down...The ram has a short stroke ( about 123mm or 4.75" ), so getting the unit assembled to the aprox. length requires connecting the provided various length extension tubes to the ram. The retaining rings on the male extensions ALL had to be removed and re-shaped in order to allow assembly and disassembly. Other than that, worked like a charm.I’m a road mechanic. The case didn’t make it threw shipping. A trip or two I. The truck has the tool set looking ruff. Might need to find or make a better storage box. Good description great price still worth the money. Thank youI love tools, even cheap tools. In fact, thank god for cheap tools because I needed two of these to pop out some axles that were stuck. The wheel bearing seals had literally melted in this differential housing, because the previous owner of my xterra, didn't check his diff oil.The cases protected every thing just fine through shipping. I can imagine that hydraulic oil will probably have to be added to these often, as they do leak just a little. No big deal. For this price, stop whining.I just received this product today 2-22-2020. Fast shipping. ( I have tested all Rams for functionality and leaks and everything works with no leaks. I have NOT lifted or used them for work yet.)This is just a unboxing and problems I have noticed so far.I have noticable defects on the case. ( I understand this kind of product is heavy and awkward for a case and will get beat up OVER TIME) but I literally just opened it.No actually problems with product so far. But this case is wack. The pictures will tell all.Great product for the money I would’ve rated five stars but the case is very cheaply made plastic... the lid literally broke off within four times of opening and closing it. Other than that are use it at least three times a week on truck repair and trailer repair
